The Village Artists was established in 1964. Three women banded together to rent space to pursue their artistic talents away from home.
The Village Artists Organization is a base for anyone interested in art and a place to work alone or in a group. The purpose of the Village Artists is to advance, promote, encourage and elevate the artistic interests of members and of the community.
The Village Artists is a non-profit group, furnishing the members with a work-shop, work space, classes, exhibits, Museum and Gallery tours, paint-outs, etc. The members have their own key and may work at the studio any time. The studio is fully equipped with easels, sculpture stands , a kiln, 2 pottery wheels and shelf space where each person may keep supplies.
The Village Artists just recently moved from Berry Lane in Flossmoor, Illinois to a store front location on Ridge Road in Homewood, Illinois. Their phone number is 708-798-4774.
The members hope to restart the art classes after the construction on the new space is completed and the Grand Opening is over.
